"Mischief is your middle name, but your first is friend. You are quite the prankster that loves to make other people laugh." (this made ME laugh - how appropriate!!) :)

Crafty Girls
Thankfully, both of my girls take after me and love to do crafts. :) I had all these great plans for Easter crafts and then realized Easter is only a week away! So we did a couple this weekend and I still have one more I want to do. I will add some pictures after Hayley gets home from school - they had a lot of fun with these, especially the wooden beads.

*edited to add photos* *edited again to add a link Chicks in a Nest Fluffy Birds
Sorry Jaime, they are NOT edible! :)

We also took the girls to see "Horton Hears a Who" this weekend - very very cute movie! It was a lot of fun and the girls laughed pretty hard over a lot of the movie. Really enjoyable.

Saturday night we had a date night - dinner and dancing!! When we went to the YMCA Friends & Servants auction a few months ago, someone got a package of dinner and dance lessons....it was supposed to be for six couples I think, but ended up being 11! The dancing was a lot of fun - she taught us just a few basic things which I think will actually be pretty useful if we ever go anywhere that requires dancing, like a wedding.....(Rick? you're next!!!) - we learned the Electric Slide, and a basic swing step, and another kind of square-dance type thing (well, not like the do-si-do or anything, just something with a partner and then around in a big circle) and then ended it with a little Stayin' Alive!! That was pretty funny, especially ending it with a line of us doing the bump. :) Really some good exercise too, I need to try that more often!

Thursday was a fun night too - we went to the Auburn Young Life Round-Up fundraiser dinner (great job Shel & Kat!!!). Our friend Stu, who is a YL leader was hilarious entertainment. Seriously, like tears in the eyes, stomach-hurting laughter kind of hilarious. I can't even describe it - it's one of those things you have to experience. Stu, you should hire yourself out for parties!! :) It was all-around great night - Young Life is an incredible organization....I wish I knew about it when I was a teen, maybe I would have avoided some miserable years and avoided putting my parents through the misery too! (sorry mom & dad) It's just incredible to hear the stories from the teens and how God has worked in their lives - those kind of testimonies are just POWERFUL. I pray that my kids don't follow the path that I did and instead find that relationship with Christ and the amazing life that comes from it!!

Family Visit
We made a drive over to Dan's parents house this past weekend - Dan's brother flew up from CA and sister & nephew drove up from Oregon, so it was good to have the time to get together. (Missed you LaDawn!) It was nice to get some sunshine over in the eastern part of the state and play outside. We played PIG (basketball, like HORSE....) for EVER. Seriously, I still have some sore spots on my arms from shooting so many baskets! Or...rather, MISSING baskets. Dan and James had this bright idea for Dan to stand on James' shoulders. Crazy boys. So here is a picture - it really only took one or two attempts at this. James, your strength amazes me!!! :) Although I was seriously worried Dan was going to break something when he jumped off!

up, up and away......

The Happiest Place on Earth
Of course it's Disneyland, how could it NOT be? I mean, that place is just HAPPY. And fun. Maybe a bit overwhelming to a timid 4-year old but VERY exciting to a not-so-timid 7 year old. And frankly, I would love to just live there - everything is always so clean and if someone so much as spills a kernel of popcorn, there are 3 people with dustpans to sweep it up. Love that. :)

Anyway, we had a wonderful 5 days in warm, sunny SoCal at Disneyland and California Adventure - did NOT want to come back. This was the first time I've actually been homesick for California. I'll post more stuff and some photos later but for now I'll just leave you with this one, it was as we were leaving yesterday.
